Food Review - Julie's and Hershey's Chocolate Cookie Marriage
Monday, January 05, 2015Marriage happens when two person decide that being together is more sinful... I mean blissful. And this is why Julie's and Hershey's came together in one of the most delicious unions in the confectionery world - the blissful combination of chocolate and cookies.
Chocolate cookies are nothing new, but for an US company to partner with a Malaysian cookie company, that is really something interesting. The collaboration resulted in SIX new variants of Julie's Hershey's Cookies - each Julie's cookie infused with the familiar Hershey's chocolate goodness.
If Singaporeans can produce children as fast as this collaboration, we would not have any aging population issues to deal with!
With so many new flavours, you might be at a loss as to which to try first. Well, if you are expecting the Evilbean to try out ALL the flavours for you....
You are right. I am going to review each and every new flavours for you with the Evilbean's rating! YAY FOR EVILBEAN!
Evilbean's Rating for Julie's Hershey's Cookies:
Julie's Hershey's Chocolate Fudge Cookies
Chocolate Fudge Cookies - Soft, creamy chocolate fudge sandwiched between rich chocolate cookies, this is the choice for chocolate lovers. The cookies are on the soft side (think Subway). I was expecting the chocolate fudge to be very sweet, but it wasn't, and the chocolate taste was rich enough without being too milky. This would be awesome if it was whizzed with milk and ice-cream for a chocolate fudge milkshake!

Julie's Hershey's Chocolate Fudge Vanilla Flavoured Cookies
Chocolate Fudge Vanilla Flavoured Cookies - The vanilla flavoured variant is a serious contestant of Oreo's. The gooey vanilla fudge comes in just the right amount for you to lick it off the cookie. I do not understand the rationale of dunking cookies into milk (wouldn't the milk make the cookies soggy?), but biting a mouthful of the chocolate vanilla cookie and then flushing it down with cold milk is just B.L.I.S.S!

Julie's Hershey's Chocolate Waffles
Chocolate Waffles - I love the fragrant, buttery taste of waffles cookies. Unfortunately for this flavour, the butter taste did not come out strong enough and the cookie was not crispy enough to get that wonderful crunch. It tasted rather flat to me.

Julie's Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Chip Cookies - In the notes Julie's gave us, the description of the chocolate chip cookies goes like: " A glass of frothy hot chocolate, his favourite cartoon, and a plate full of these chocolate dotted yummies! Dipped or on its own, this classic favourite never fails to impress the kids." BUT.. I liked this as well, does it mean that I am a kid?
Or maybe, everyone that indulges in chocolate chip cookies are just kid(young)-at-heart. HOORAY for never growing old!
Chocolate Chip Cookies Rating (out of 5 Evilbeans):
(3.5)
Julie's Hershey's Chocolate Chip Oat Cookies
Chocolate Chip Oat Cookies - Oat cookies are getting really popular nowadays because of the various health benefits associated with these healthy grains. This is my FAVOURITE out of the six, not only because of the fact that it is slightly less sinful, it has a well-balanced taste of chocolate, cookies and oats. I also love the crumbly texture, it is almost akin to eating a handful of those crumbles they sprinkle on the desserts! In fact, I felt that the small packet of chocolate chip oat cookies was too small for me, so the Evilbean performed some magic..

Chocolate Chip Hazelnut Cookies - The nuttiest variant among all the chocolate cookies, the chocolate chip hazelnut is a very interesting flavour. The smoky, nutty aroma rushes and fills your entire mouth on your first bite. The smoky flavour lingers in your mouth while you chew on the bits of hazelnut and the crispy chocolate cookie. This is the crunchiest cookie out of all the 6, and it will make an excellent combination to any ice-cream, pudding or cakes.
Chocolate Chip Hazelnut Cookies Rating (out of 5 Evilbeans):
(3.5)
And there it is, all 6 new variants of the Julie's Hershey's Chocolate cookies all reviewed with Evilbean rating!
