Peranakan Dishes at 1 Market Buffet (Plaza Singapura)

It's so hard to pronounce "Peranakan" fast and accurately without sounding like I am speaking Tamil.
Seriously. Try pronouncing it now without any accent, or shaking your head left and right.
Thankfully there is no need for us to pronounce it at the special Nyonya Fair at 1 Market, which is located in Plaza Singapura. Throughout the month of March 2015, Peranakan dishes will be added to 1 Market's existing buffet spread AT THE USUAL PRICE!
This would be the first thing that greets you at the Peranakan corner - Assorted Crackers or what we Singaporeans call "Keropok". Brilliant lighting effects make it seems like this basket of "Keropok" is glowing and calling out to you...

Chef Wan actually dug into his old trove of recipes that were passed down from his grandmother to his mother, and then to him. His mum is Peranakan, so the food that you will see in this Nyonya Fair are all authentic traditional Peranakan dishes.
The thing about eating satays in buffets is that THE SATAY SAUCE IS FREE FLOW. One can never get enough satay sauce.
I did not try the crabs, but the prawns are really worth the extra effort to peel. Yes, I know I know, fellow lazy-to-peel-prawns-but-love-to-eat-them friend. They are really worth peeling for.
The desserts at 1 Market are lazy-friendly. Yes, the desserts are in such cute, miniature bite-portions that you can simply just pop them in your mouth without the hassle of knife and fork! This is totally a +evilbean for me.
